Our Christmas tree is the biggest pain in the ass I've encountered all week.It's "new" - somehow, somewhere, my parents got the deal of the century, getting a $200 + Christmas tree for $20. "What's wrong with it?" I'd asked suspiciously. "Nothing's wrong with it, it was just discontinued/at auction/etc. Your dad opened up the box and checked it out."
Well, technically, except for the stand missing a tab (it still works, though), nothing was wrong with it. It just smells kinda musty and you have to put all the branches in yourself. The "needles" scratch your hands and it sheds worse than a real tree. But I suppose we can't bitch too much; we did get it for free, after all.
All we did was moved furniture around last night and assembled the tree. Today is devoted to lights, tinsel, and actually decorating said tree, all before 6 or so when my friend Susan's heading over. Which means I should actually go downstairs and start doing something.

Y'know, I was going to have Chip come in and tinker with this template, make it look cooler or something, but I think I'll leave it as is for now. I really have no good ideas, except perhaps changing the color. I've never been fond of green.Jason and I will be setting up the Christmas tree tonight and getting our cards out. I am so not looking forward to this. It's hard to get into the Christmas spirit when it's 60 damn degrees outside. I feel like I'm in southern California again. I also haven't wrapped one of Jason's gifts yet, and I just found out a couple nights ago that he spent way more on me. I'm runnning out of ideas if I'd like to even it up. Hell, it wouldn't even be wise to even it up, seeing as we're not wealthy and spending the same money to get this stuff. *sigh*
