Pure Imitation Maranie

Thanks to Kopi, I got to take this test and chuckle at the results:

which "monty python and the holy grail" character are you?

this quiz was made by colleen

But then I followed the next link from that site to found out which hair metal band am I? As it turns out, they said:

which 80s hair band are you?

this quiz was made by colleen

Dammit, I so desperately wanted it to say:

which 80s hair band are you?

this quiz was made by colleen

I mean, hell, I WAS one of those twelve-year-old girls! But alas, that was my Number 7. At least my Number 3 pick was:

which 80s hair band are you?

this quiz was made by colleen

And who am I trying to kid, I'm just getting a big giggle out of having all these bands on my blog now. :-D And my god, am I bored. :-P

Some observations as I tried to wake up today:

1) I swear I heard an ice cream truck go by. And I don't mean some big-rig taking pints of Ben & Jerry's to Meijer, either. I'm talking the ice cream man, with his calliope music playing to call the children out, like a sugar-rushed Pied Piper. What the hell? It's, like, 40 degrees outside!

2) If you ever have trouble understanding what the hell Ozzy & Co. are saying in between the bleeps, try turning on the close captioning. I found out today that a few of the eps of The Osbournes have it, like the one with the dogs pissing and *bleep*ing all over the house.

3) Speaking of The Osbournes, they're one of the reasons why my ass still hasn't gotten in gear today. That's the most addictive show ever. It's televised crack.

4) Every day now, when I put on my eye makeup before going to work, I snicker and remember the first issue of YM I ever read. It was an article about the new, cool colors of eyeshadow and how to apply them, and the article offered this piece of advice which I never, ever forgot:

"Never wear more than four shades of eyeshadow at once."

Wow. It was the 80's, folks, we actually needed to be told this. *giggle* And while I'm sure there's an exception to that rule for stage makeup, Halloween, and special occassions of some other sort that would require 5 or more shades of eyeshadow at once, it's a rule that I've always adhered to.

5) I've got "Celebrity Skin" by Hole stuck in my head. Please, someone get it out of there, or at least give me the lyrics so I can actually play the ENTIRE song in my head rather than the only snippets I can recall.

Random thoughts over. Time to get my ass in gear and do something today.

errrrr....

I just woke up a little bit ago, about a half hour or so, actually, and thought that surfing my usual suspects would wake me up. No such luck there.

My day today shall be filled with mundane tasks such as finding a pharmacy that isn't out of Jason's prescripted decongestant, balancing the checkbook, and painting my nails, which never quite turns out as nice as I'd like. (Partly due to the fact that I'm the most impatient person you'll ever meet, so I even manage to smudge those 60-second quick-dry polishes.) At least Jason and I shall be seeing Contact, a musical, which is playing at the Palace Theater tonight. Problem is, I've driven past the Palace umpteen times over the past year, and NOT ONCE have I ever noticed a place to park. So add "finding a place to park tonight without killing me and my black heels (to wear with my little black dress, of course)" to the list of Stupid Shit Maranie Must Do Today.

Oh yeah, and calling Marty to see when Jason and I can crash there this summer. Why should Chip be having all the West Coast fun? ;-)

Huh. I'm STILL not awake yet. Time to go gulp down my Slim Fast breakfast, which I'm sure works better for weight loss when your ideal of a "sensible dinner" isn't a Grilled Stuft Burrito and a leftover Cadbury Egg from Easter. :-P

I've had my feelings hurt by someone who I thought I was close friends with, and may still be but am feeling a bit left out. Hence the hurt. So Jason and I are curling up with some Must-See TV and a bottle of Arbor Mist tonight, and hopefully I shall feel better and stop the potential for kvetching and crying.

All bow down before me!

73%

I am 73% worshipable! And you? Find out!

Well, all but 27% of you, anyway. :-P

Thanks, Kopi, for this latest getting-to-know-myself-better quiz:

Last night I got sick, eating Peeps and Cadbury Eggs at dinner. Easter finally happened for me.

Today Jason is sick, I'm bored at work, and I'm kind of tired to boot. But I still have a half hour on my lunch break. Let's see how much useless shit I can look up online in 30 minutes, and if I find anything interesting, I'll post it.

Y'know, it just occurred to me that I haven't posted here in a few days, and even the last few posts weren't real posts, just personality tests.

So what's new, you ask? (Actually, you probably couldn't care less, but here goes):

Nothing, really. Had Easter Sunday dinner at Jason's family's place. Been going to work. Sleeping. You get the idea. Pretty damned uneventful. The only reason I'm even typing this now is out of a sense of obligation over anything else. :-P
