Pure Imitation Maranie
Friday, May 10, 2002There are two different Star Wars-themed covers to Entertainment Weekly this week. I got the one with Ewan McGregor. Life is good.posted by Maranie on 5/10/2002 06:16:00 PM Thursday, May 09, 2002So I watched Friends tonight and had this stupid fear. I've had this one girl's name picked out now for around 14 years, but if Rachel on Friends names her baby that, and then I have a kid in the next year or two, then everyone's going to say "Oh, like Rachel's baby on Friends!" every fucking time I tell them her name.posted by Maranie on 5/09/2002 11:25:00 PM OK, I'm somewhat mental. Anyone who reads my site knows me well enough to know this. So it should be no surprise that I'm totally in love with Steve Burns. Yes, THAT Steve Burns. I used to watch Blue's Clues when I was unemployed just to see him wearing that striped green shirt, singing and frolicking with a cartoon dog. Hell, I thought he was cool then, but now I'm just adoring the new grown-up Steve. His site makes me laugh and I'm loving the new look. I've heard one of his new songs and while I'm not saying it's the best thing I've ever heard, it's still pretty damn good. So what can I say? He's perfect. Especially since he seems to have a thing for squirrels. He he he.... posted by Maranie on 5/09/2002 07:34:00 PM Wednesday, May 08, 2002Oh. My. God.I have been so fucking busy, it's unbelievable. I went non-stop today and still stayed two hours over. Here I have six new Complaints, clients calling me every five minutes, umpteen attorney letters to get out, and the fucking "Macarena" stuck in my head. So needless to say, work was hell. I'm giddy over stupid stuff, like hearing "Frontier Psychiatrist" on the radio, or the rumor that if a new season of The Osbournes comes to pass, that Ozzy will have his own subtitles (he he he....). While both things are amusing, I think most of it is sheer exhaustion of the "fire bad, tree pretty" variety. At least I finally got to see Spiderman. Oh, wow. Good movie. We're going to see it again at some point. Wow. And if I wasn't completely in love with Tobey Maguire before, I sure as hell am now. (Sorry, Jason; I'm a sucker for big blue puppy-dog eyes and tragic romance.) Very well done, even though I was kicking myself in the ass afterward for missing Lucy Lawless and Bruce Campbell's cameos. Ah well, even more of an excuse to see it again, and hopefully this time not start hopping in my seat with glee when Ted Raimi pops up on the screen and resisting the urge to start singing "Joxer the Mighty" right there in the middle of the theater. See what I mean? I need some sleep. posted by Maranie on 5/08/2002 07:55:00 PM |
