Pure Imitation Maranie
Friday, September 13, 2002NOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!Probably old news to some of the faithful readers here, but a total shock to me. Dammit! Jason and I watch hardly any TV at all, but we always tune in for Farscape. Best sci-fi show out there, hands down. I can't believe they'd ever dream of yanking it! I've signed a petition. I'm having Jason sign a petition. And if you follow the above link, YOU can sign a petition. Anything to keep this show on the air. Jason and I just started watching last year. I haven't even seen all the eps yet, and now I'm wondering if it'll be too late. posted by Maranie on 9/13/2002 12:25:00 PM Wednesday, September 11, 2002Yeah, we're not skittish enough today without this happening. And yay me for being in downtown Columbus right now. :-Pposted by Maranie on 9/11/2002 03:17:00 PM Tuesday, September 10, 2002Well, fancy that. Telemarketers have a heart.posted by Maranie on 9/10/2002 12:08:00 PM Monday, September 09, 2002I am so disappointed.Jason and I went to the afternoon showing of "Les Miserables" yesterday at the Ohio Theatre. We had good seats. I watched the show for the first time in over 11 years and, aside from minor gripes, loved it. He hated it. He said it was monotonous (the first half, he said, was nothing but "I'm running from the law!"), the lighting was poor (I'll admit, it could've been better), the lyrics sappy (he almost laughed when Fantine got arrested for prostitution) and that the whole thing could've been summed up in 20 minutes ("Guy steals some bread, spends 20 years in jail, breaks parole, adopts a kid, lives his life, and dies. Oh, and somewhere along the way, the kid falls in love.") I'm disappointed that he didn't enjoy it, and sat through the whole thing. I feel bad for him. And I feel bad for myself, I mean, I really enjoy this play and the music, and except for my annoyance at the casting of Eponine (who should NOT be a perky little blond, imho), I really had a good time. My only complaint was that the sound quality was lacking, I mean, people usually crack up during "Master of the House" and "Lovely Ladies", but you couldn't even understand most of the lyrics. So now it's Monday, I'm at work and I feel like hell. I can't wait to get home and take a nap. And hopefully, we'll get more of the house set up now that my folks have brought up some more furniture, and purchased us even more stuff. That's when I'll take some more pictures and post them, but it'll be a few weeks, folks. (Yeah. Like anyone out there is holding their breath. :-P) posted by Maranie on 9/09/2002 12:41:00 PM |
